About

Verlin is a Fractional CFO who leverages his prior corporate experience to provide analytics, cash flow management, KPI tracking in dashboards, manage bank relationships, risk management, turn-key medical collections, and vendor management services. His services cater to physicians, dentists, construction, retail, and service industries. Verlin supports businesses in growth mode who need assistance minimizing expenses while maximizing net profits. Periodically, Verlin is retained by business owners and attorneys to value businesses and serve as an expert witness to calculate lost profits for insurance defense and commercial lost profit cases. Verlin’s services are available in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metropolitan area and remotely using collaborative tools such as WebEx.

Corporate experience

Most of Verlin’s prior experience was with Fortune 500 companies. He worked for Bank of America and CitiGroup for over 10 years. Verlin was promoted to VP for exceptional work in the Analytics and Finance departments. He was tasked with minimizing expenses by managing capacity plans for the retail bank, litigation support and credit card teams. He helped grow revenue by manipulating Big Data using SQL Server, developing dashboards, analyzing trends, and presenting findings on strategic management calls. On one project, he leveraged analytics and dashboards to improve the work performance of teams in remote offices throughout the U.S.

Continued education and licenses

Verlin continues to stay abreast of changes in the financial management, insurance, and technology space. He attends conferences on an annual basis. He presents at business symposiums and workshops to individuals and business owners. From trends in the CFO space, artificial intelligence (AI), “Be your own banker” strategies, revenue cycle management and cyber security, Verlin continues to learn critical information to add value to a business enterprise. He leverages knowledge from his property and casualty licenses to consult on risks such as property, liability, cyber risk, business interruption and others. He is an active member in professional associations such as the Healthcare Financial Management Association. (HFMA) Verlin obtained a designation from HFMA in practice management to understand the financial matters facing practice owners. Also, he is learning more about telemedicine as result of COVID-19.

Community service

Verlin holds a leadership position in his masonic lodge. His lodge sponsors schools, feeds the city’s first responders, provide for children during the holiday and provide support for the food pantry. In the future, Verlin’s masonic lodge will engage in activities to assist the homeless student population.

Personal life

Attends the Potter’s House Church. Resides and works in the Dallas area. Verlin enjoys business networking, reading, investing, working out, playing golf, racquetball and traveling. Proud member of the Brothers Bible Brief (BBB), a group of christian men who came together as a result of COVID-19 to do daily bible teachings and have a safe place to share their vulnerabilities via Zoom.
